Applying for Financial Aid at Earlham
Earlham awards over 9.5 million dollars in aid each
year--through aid packages which may include grants and scholarships,
campus employment, and loans. In order for us to determine your
eligibility for these funds, you must complete the Free Application
for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and the Earlham Application for
Financial Aid. These applications must be postmarked by March 1
in order to receive priority consideration for the full range of
financial aid available at Earlham.
These two applications will allow us to determine
your eligibility for federal funds and Earlham College need-based
funds. Indiana residents apply for Indiana state grants by completing
the FAFSA by March 1. Other states may have different policies and
procedures for awarding their grants. Check with your state agency
or high school guidance counselor to find out how to apply for these
funds.
If you have completed your aid application file by
March 1, and you have been accepted for admission, you will receive
your Earlham College Award Notification on or shortly after April
1.
From time to time, families are selected for a process
called “verification.” This means that either Earlham
or the federal processor needs to verify the information you have
reported on your application forms. If you are selected for verification,
you will receive an estimated aid package. This estimated
award will include a list of items which we need to verify your
aid eligibility, such as tax returns, or W-2s. Shortly after we
receive the requested documents, you will receive your actual
award notification.
