Alan Price ’88 became Earlham’s 18th president on July 1, 2017.
Prior to coming to Earlham, Price was appointed by former U.S. President Barack Obama to serve as the Associate Director of Management for the Peace Corps and was the Acting Chief of Staff for the Federal Mediation and Conciliation Service in Washington, D.C.
He majored in economics at Earlham and earned his J.D. at Harvard Law School in 1992.
“Earlham is where I first learned the power and importance of consensus building. Earlham is where I reexamined childhood assumptions about social justice and social responsibility. Earlham is where I learned to speak truth to power — with respect.”

We hope you are able to stay through Saturday evening and join us for the Naturally 7 concert at 8 p.m.
Naturally 7 performs with their distinct a cappella style. More than just your average singing group, this seven-man crew has perfected an intriguing style they call “Vocal Play” — singing as instruments. Naturally 7 also creates every backing instrument heard in its songs: talking drums, bass, guitars, horns, flutes … even turntables.
The inauguration concert is free of charge but does require guests to reserve tickets in advance. All reserved concert tickets will be distributed during registration for the Inauguration at the May-Crossen Commons in Runyan Center.
