What advice would you give a UWC student who is considering applying to enroll at Earlham College?

Earlham College , a small institution with one of the highest percentages of international students among the student body, has an atmosphere very similar to the one I experienced in LPCUWC [Li Po Chun UWC of Hong Kong]. The availability of Community Service, cultural student unions and cultural shows made me feel in a very UWC-like environment. I would advise any student with a strong motivation towards the UWC movement to consider Earlham as a top choice.

What influenced your decision to attend Earlham?

First, it would be the Davis Foundation along with Earlham's reputation for financial aid that provided me a good chance to be able to attend a U.S. college. Moreover, I always have been interested in a liberal arts education and the prospect of being a part of a small campus always appealed to me.

What do you have to say about the interaction between you and your professors?

Just like what I felt in UWCs, we are to think of professors as peers, call them by their first names.

What has been the best thing about your Earlham College experience?

So far, it would have to be the closeness of the community that is triggered by the small number of students.

What do you have to say about the interaction between UWC students here at Earlham?

Interactions between any two students at Earlham is intense. The binding between the UWC students is even greater. Introductions are easier when you know common acquaintances. Coming from a UWC, you are very likely to know someone from almost every country and many of them have gone through the same selection process with other UWC-ers at Earlham.

What do you have to say about opportunities for involvement at Earlham?

Participating in social and community services is easy to arrange. It is very easy to continue almost all aspects of CAS [Creativity, Action, Service, and Campus Support] that were held in the UWCs.
