Questions About Visiting

How do I schedule a visit?

There are many details involved in planning a visit.  Please call our office at 800-EARLHAM (800-327-5426) or 765-983-1600 at least one week in advance to confirm your visit arrangements.  You can also contact our office by email or use the Visit Request Form. 

What are the closest airports?

Dayton International Airport is approximately forty-five minutes from campus.  Both the Indianapolis International and Cincinnati International Airports are approximately 90 minutes from campus.

Are there shuttles to and from the airport?

Shuttles are available for prospective students traveling alone from the Dayton International Airport.  College shuttles leave from and return to the Dayton International Airport Sundays through Fridays, and run only during the academic year.  All shuttles are scheduled in advance.  Please contact the campus visit coordinator by phone (800-EARLHAM or 800-327-5426) or email before confirming flight arrangements.

If I’m a high school senior, what can I do during my visit?

If I’m a high school junior, what can I do during my visit?

  • One class visit or one academic special appointment--special appointments are not available for juniors during the last week in March and throughout the month of April

If I’m a high school sophomore or freshman, what can I do during my visit?

  • One class visit or one special academic appointment--special appointments are not available for sophomores or freshman during the last week in March and throughout the month of April

What options are available if I visit when Earlham is on break?

When classes are not in session, we can offer a tour and an interview.  We cannot guarantee a special appointment during breaks, but will be glad to contact the appropriate person or department to see if one can be scheduled.

I can’t visit campus until I am admitted.  Is that okay?

Absolutely!  Each year, a number of students visit after they are admitted.  In fact, we have two special admitted student programs in April in addition to the opportunity for you to make an individual visit.

I’d like to interview during my visit.  What is involved in an interview?

The interviewer (a member of the admissions staff) will have a conversation with you prompted by questions asked by both the interviewer and you.  The purpose of the interview is to get to know you and to help you explore how you and Earlham “fit.”
