June 21 - July 4, 2009 Want an easy way to support Earlham? Tell a young person about Explore-A-College, a college-level summer program for high school students currently in 9th, 10th and 11th grades. A note from an alum sent with the application waives the $50 registration fee. Over 30% of Explore-A-College participants find out about the program from an Earlhamite and 25% of all participants enroll at Earlham College. Please spread the word!

East Africa/Tanzania Program

Professor of Biology Brent Smith and Associate Professor of Art and Reference Librarian Nancy Taylor share the experiences of students who participated in the Earlham Tanzania Program during the fall semester. Alumni Spotlight

In the Alumni Spotlight section of Earlhamite Extras we profile Keith Morey '96 (MAT '08), one of Earlham's first Bonner Scholars. He now teaches science in a Richmond middle school and lives in a "sustainable" house at Cope Environmental Center. Also, Clemens Pietzner '78 and Sarrah Worthington Evans '04 answer our questions about their work with not-for-profit organizations.

Science Department Gives Local Parents A Valuable Gift Students and faculty recently offered free lead testing to the community, using a new piece of scientific equipment, procured through grants to the College's science programs.
