Alice Ranck Hettle
Alice Ranck Hettle has this year received the honor of being inducted into the hall of Fame of New Albany High School (Indiana), where she was a beloved faculty member for 33 years. She proved to her students that Latin is not a dead language!
Alice was a Fulbright Scholar to the American Academy of the Classics in Rome and the Vergilian School near Naples. She received the award for Excellence in Teaching Latin by the Classical Association Middle-West-South over 25 nominees in 1982. She was New Albany-Floyd Count Teacher of the Year and a finalist for Indiana Teacher of the Year in 1986. After retiring that year, she married Dr. Paul J. Hettle (Jack) and they now reside in Michigan.

Submitted by: Delbert Duckworth: "My wife and I attended Earlham. I left for war and wife Ginny Grosvenor went with me. Both of us attended Earlham on scholarships. Dr. George Van Dyke recruited me to play on Earlham baseball team. Ginny Grosvenor also Given a Citizenship scholarship same year. I married Ginny and went to World War two same year. She went with me and taught soldiers to survive - year was 1943. I wrote a book about this time period. The book is in your library. Title is AMERICA'S LEGACY OF GREAT COURAGE. God bless Earlham. P.S. Ginny is now deceased, but she loved Earlham too. Our marriage lasted 65 years and 4 children.

William Newlin
William was born on April 6, 1922 and passed away on Friday, July 31, 2009. William was last known to be living in Ardmore, Pennsylvania.

Peter Frank
Peter Frank died February 18th 2008 of cancer at age 84. He was born Wolfgang Edouard Augustus Frank on September 24, 1923. in Mainz, Germany. He is survived by his wife Marian Burton Frank '45.
