After 10 1/2 years as the Director of Educational Ministries at Arvada Presbyterian Church in Arvada, Colorado, I have taken a new position at Wellshire Presbyterian Church in Denver, as Director of Children & Family Ministries. Our two youngest children are now in college: Seth is a second year student at Emerson College in Boston, Massachusetts and Leah is a first year student at the College of Wooster in Wooster, Ohio. Mark continues to love his work at the Denver School of Science & Technology as the Director of Technology. Check out the school and his work at scienceandtech.org. Both our mothers passed away in 2007 and so we are truly entering a new phase of our lives.

In early 2006, I was invited to testify in Augusta on a proposed bill extending protection to animals in domestic abuse cases where a protection order was being sought. My testimony was critical to the bill's passage and signing into law. Maine became the first state in this country to enact such legislation and was quickly followed by similar legislation in several other states. This was covered in the April 1 edition of the New York Times that year and there will be follow-up stories early next year in the magazines Oprah! and Ladies Home Journal.
