In October I had the pleasure of helping to host Juan Diez and his 6 member band from Chicago, Sones de Mexico, at an arts and music festival held near Asheville, NC. They taught some traditional Mexican dances to 5th graders at a local elementary school who then performed at the festival. Juan leads this incredibly talented group of musicians who perform a diverse array of highly spirited Mexican folk music. Check out their website at http://www.sonesdemexico.com. They are incredible!

"I got my first clue into "deep state" politics in my first year of studying Political Science at Earlham. Since then, it has been a never-ending quest to uncover the truth of the deep state. Had this info been taught at Earlham, it could have saved me a lot of time." :)

I would love to hear from friends. I am still living in sunny California and have been married 12 years now.

Best Wishes to everybody! Do I ever have some stories to tell!! I've gotten pretty good at this pottery thing. Still keeping up with my Japanese by reading Nikkei, Yomiuri, and Asahi Newspapers online every day. Love being self-employed, love living in the TN mountains, might move back to FL to be nearer family. If I get the right offer, might move to Japan to serve as translator/interpreter for a few years, earn some money, then most likely back to artwork.

Becky writes, "Anyone not at our 20 year reunion was sorely missed and probably mentioned with great fondness and good humor.  It was a splendid turn-out of close to 50 classmates at our dinner at the Old Richmond Inn with another 20 family members and friends to boot.  A remarkably moving sound-byte was heard from each of us describing who we are today because of Earlham.  Wow!  Such a tribute to our alma mater, our professors, and to us! Don't wait until our 25th to reconnect - check out Facebook and the Yahoo Group for 1988 for the latest.  And send in your contribution to EC's newly begun Capital Campaign for building new Fine Arts and Science Buildings.  The campus is alive and bustling with exciting promise for the future - be a part of it!!  Don't forget to update your info on the Alumni Update form on the website.  Stay in touch!"  Becky also added that even though she is currently a mom-at-home, she does occasional contract work doing corporate team-building through experiential education.

Rebecca and her partner Chris have a three month old daughter, Chantreya Isabelle, and jaunting around to see the relatives is all she can do right now.  She does wish she could be at the reunion and hopes you all have a wonderful time.  She writes, “Raise a glass for me!  Take care, Rebecca Email Rebecca"

I am just watching the election returns and am thrilled.  I am looking for alum Kathy Crandall.  She'll know why.
