Just wanted to let folks know (in case I haven't already) that my family and I started Freedom Farm Community, a nonprofit farm project in Mt. Hope, New York (an hour and a half from New York City). Yes, I do have some updates. I got married in June 2007, to Brett Walter (of Anchorage, Alaska) in Portland, Oregon where we both live. I continue to work as an attorney for a non-profit organization and was recently promoted to managing attorney for a new office. I represent migrant and seasonal farmworkers in employment-related matters. Brett is an elementary school teacher. We have a puppy, Juneau, who is extremely cute and very energetic. We both continue to play ultimate frisbee; our current team is called Breaker's Mark.

I guess you could mention that I received tenure at Baltimore Hebrew University and my book Tante Jolesch or The Decline of the West in Anecdotes, which consists of vibrant and often humorous anecdotes concerning Viennese Jewish life before the war, will be available in the coming weeks.

Kathy Martin West
My husband Phill and I just had a baby girl. Her name is Alexandra Currier West. Her big sister Thea Sedgwick West just turned three and is very excited about her. I am taking a year off from my middle school science teaching job to be with her this year. I’d love to hear from anyone out there. Kathy Martin (I am now Kathy West – not to be confused with Kate West who was in Boston last I knew)
