Elizabeth Bonny
Hello from Kansas! For the past year, I have been working with developmentally disabled individuals through a non-profit in Lawrence. In the fall I will begin work on a Masters in Social Welfare at the University of Kansas, and hope to have a career working with youth. I continue to create in various mediums, mainly fiber and beads, and sell my pieces at http://www.harvestrybyhand.com and at local fairs. I love spending time with my brother and his family in Kansas City, and enjoy time with new and old friends who come through to visit.

Jessica Castleberry
Things are wonderful in California-good food, good friends, good weather. I am living in Nevada City with Christopher Nicholson '06 and teaching environmental science to juniors and seniors at the Woolman Semester. (Some of them have even gone on to attend Earlham!) Much as I love Woolman, Chris and I will be leaving CA this June to go work as interns at Meeting Place Farm in Lucknow, Ontario with Katrina McQuail, Nathan Henderson, and David Peake. We're still working on convincing Miles Gurtler '06 and Gabe Fuson '04 to join us. Next spring, Chris and I will be assisting the EC off-campus program in New Zealand with Peter Blair. There's a lot to get organized between now and then, but I'm really looking forward to an exciting year ahead!

Kim Bache
I did it! I quit my day job and on January 16th I'll be flying to the island of Hispaniola to tour the Dominican Republic and return to Haiti. Finally!
Since my 2003 Haiti May Term I've been dreaming of the day I'd be back in Port-au-Prince speaking Creole, slurping mangos and joking with my Haitian brothers and sisters. After hiking, dancing bachata and seeing where my grandmother grew up in the DR, I'll soon cross the border to go visit and volunteer in Haiti. I'll definitely keep you all posted on this exciting adventure! P.S. If anyone has recently traveled to, or has volunteered in, Haiti or knows someone who has, I'd love to hear from you. Just use the alumni search to email me and I'll respond when I have an internet connection. Thank you for sharing!

Sameer Khatiwada
After finishing a Masters degree in public policy from Harvard, Sameer moved to Geneva, Switzerland to work for the International Labour Organization (ILO). Sameer writes, “I was just in New York for a short vacation and it was great to be back in the states for the presidential elections. I am thrilled that the Americans made the right choice! How often do you see the American flag being waved by foreigners with respect and admiration? Last time I checked, people were burning them. So kudos to every American out there who made the right choice.... Lastly, drop me a note if you happen to be in Geneva or around here somewhere, since every other city in Europe is very close to Geneva.”

Heather Hoey
After graduating from Earlham, Heather spent some time inventorying caves at Mammoth Cave National Park in Kentucky. Then for two and a half years or so, she participated in and led front and back country trail crews all over the US for the Student Conservation Association. Working for SCA gave her the chance to live in some amazing places from the deserts of Southern California to the mountains of Eastern Utah to the beaches of the US Virgin Islands. Heather says, “As much as I loved the work and the people, living the life of a nomad can get tiresome, so after spending a few months visiting my sister in Bolivia, I found myself back home in Arkansas.”  She’s been there nearly a year, and is currently working for the Arkansas State Park Service as a park interpreter/naturalist.

Joy Hodges
Joy Hodges lives live in Asheville, NC. Swinging by her yard-work-for-rent arms, she manages to dance, plots to perform, and hopes to teach. She performs with the Asheville Playback Theatre and has fingers crossed to teach in a prison. Her bodyspirit stretches and grows through various improv movement forms. Recently, she has both enjoyed and bored of (but persevered in) making applesauce and hummus. She hopes sales of her poetry books and t-shirts kick up a notch, and that her warrior meditations keep kicking her butt daily.
