Class Notes:

Sarah McDermott and Mollie Wegerson
Hello class of 2009! While graduation was only several months ago, we already have so much to catch up on. This space is a great way for us to stay in touch and share our exciting adventures. As your class chairs, we will take the first plunge and update you on what we have been up to.
Mollie Wegerson has returned home to Chicago where she's been oftentimes too busy to think about the wonderful place she's left behind in Richmond! Mollie is currently working with a Montessori school that not only allows her to pay the bills, but allows her to keep things in perspective (they're 3-6 years old!). She also has been pursuing her passion for theatre and is currently assistant stage managing a show with a small theatre company. When she isn't working, Mollie has loved catching up with the various alums who have settled in Chicago. If you're in the Chicago area Mollie would love to see you! Sarah McDermott is working on political campaigns in the San Francisco Bay Area. After helping out with a local school board campaign and interning with a gubernatorial campaign, Sarah took a position as the Campaign Coordinator for a Santa Clara County District Attorney candidate. Sarah has also started raising money for breast cancer charities and recently participated in the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure. Sarah spends what little free time she has suffering from Earlham withdrawal symptoms and hoping some of her classmates will come visit her in California! We urge all to keep in touch with each other and with Earlham! Submit notes to the Earlhamite and let Alumni Relations know of any changes in your lives!

Emily Kaplan
I recently visited EC (for homecoming) and was soooo glad to see everyone. It was good to be back, but kind of weird at the same time. Also, Casey Kashnig '06 came to visit me, and we went into the city to visit Phoebe Stern on her day off from work. I am enjoying working at the Board of Ed. in my town. I also applied to get a substitute teaching certificate, but am waiting on my criminal clearance letter. Apparently I've committed a lot of crimes...haha. Just kidding. Also, since my aunt thinks that I'm not doing enough, I'm looking into getting another job. I looked at the bookstore in my town. They do not have any job openings as of right now, but the owner e-mailed me about meeting to talk in case they have openings in the future. Also, a new place just opened up in my town where a lady named Emily (coincidence?) teaches acting classes, and she just happens to know the woman who I took acting classes with when I was younger. I stopped in one day last week, and she gave me her card and told me to e-mail her. We'll see what happens. I hope that all of you are well, and having luck finding jobs.

Sarah Glassman
Hi everyone! I hope you're all doing well! I'm currently finishing my third month of my year of service as an Americorps*VISTA in Milwaukee. I'm working with a public school in the Milwaukee school district to help parents and community members get involved in the school. It's tough work, but very rewarding.
