Looking Back, Moving Forward
Please mark your calendar for Earlham’s All Black Alumni Celebration —featuring the celebration of the 50th Anniversary of Gospel Revelations and the 90th anniversary of our first African American graduate — Clarence Cunningham, Class of 1924.
All alumni are invited to participate in this special celebration sponsored by the African American Advisory Board during Homecoming and Reunion Weekend. Festivities will focus on reuniting alumni and celebrating the breadth of the College’s diversity both historically and in current day.
50th Anniversary concert for Gospel Revelations will occur on Friday night and include the opportunity for all former members to join current students on stage. Following the concert will be a special cocktail reception featuring Earlham African-American DJs through the decades at Forest Hills Country Club. This will be a time for dancing, reminiscing and fun for all generations of alumni.
On Saturday, in addition to the multiple Homecoming events and athletic competitions, the College will officially commemorate the 90th anniversary of Clarence Cunningham’s ’24 graduation— by rededicating a newly renovated Cunningham Cultural Center.
This celebration is sponsored by the African American Advisory Board. We look forward to welcoming all alumni back to campus to participate in this celebration. This weekend will provide many opportunities to reconnect with classmates, friends and meet current students.
Please see the 2014 Homecoming and Reunion Weekend tentative schedule of events to view the full complement of activities and events occurring over the weekend. Register to attend using the Homecoming and Reunion reservation form.
We hope to see you in October!
