Wabash d. Earlham, 5-2CRAWFORDSVILLE, Indiana--The Earlham College men's tennis team opened their 2002 campaign by playing in-state rival and North Coast Athletic Conference opponent Wabash College. The Little Giants defeated the Quakers 5-2.
Earlham won matches at number four and five singles. In number four singles, Nick Schuller (Lincoln, MA/Concord Academy) defeated Hadi Motiee, 6-4, 3-6, 6-2, while Casey Kroh (Fort Wayne, IN/Canterberry) defeated Cameron Starnes 6-4, 7-6, (10-8) in number five singles.
Wabash won four of the singles matches and swept all three doubles matches.
Earlham falls to 2-3 overall and 0-1 in the North Coast Athletic Conference West Division. The Quakers will continue non-conference action on Saturday, March 2 as they host Manchester College at 11 a.m.
