Marvin "Amo" Arnold
(2005) Marvin “Amo” Arnold ’59
played basketball and baseball while at Earlham. A four-year basketball
player, he scored 996 points in his career. Arnold was the basketball
team co-captain as a junior and a senior. He finished sixth in the
nation in free throw percentages as a junior, and eighth, as a senior.
During his junior and senior years at Earlham, he played baseball.
A starter at first base, he led the team in hitting at .317 in his
final season, which earned him Player of the Year honors for the
Quakers.
After leaving Earlham, Arnold worked
for 42 years in the Indiana public schools enjoying great success
teaching math and coaching
track, basketball and football.
