Quakers Open NCAC Portion of Schedule

DELAWARE, Ohio — The
Earlham College baseball team opened play in the North Coast Athletic
Conference on Sunday afternoon at Ohio Wesleyan University.
The Quakers dropped the first game of the doubleheader 14-1 at Littick
Field before falling 21-0 in the second contest.
First-year Cal Wilson (Pendleton, IN/ Pendleton Heights) knocked
in Earlham’s run in the fourth inning of the first game to
make it 3-1. The Quakers had the tying run on base, but couldn’t
score.
Ohio Wesleyan scored five times in the fifth and six runs in the
sixth to put the game away.
First-year Alex Anderson (Logansport, IN/Logansport) worked five
innings as he took the loss falling to 0-3.
In game two, junior Justin Colanese (New Carlisle, IN/New Prairie)
had Earlham’s hit. Sophomore Corey Gareri (Thorntown, IN/Western
Boone) suffered the loss on the mound and is 1-2. Ohio Wesleyan scored
six runs in the first two innings to take control.
Earlham (6-9, 0-2 in the NCAC West) returns to action Monday at Ohio
Wesleyan (10-3, 2-0) for another twin bill. The first game starts
at noon.
