Quakers Finish NCAC Series at Ohio Wesleyan

DELAWARE, Ohio — The
Earlham College baseball team continued its North Coast Athletic
Conference series at Ohio Wesleyan University on Monday.
The Quakers fell twice to the Bishops 6-1 in the opener at Littick
Field and 17-2 in the second game.
Senior Derreck Parkevich (Logansport, IN/Logansport)
led the Quakers with two hits. First-year Cal Wilson (Pendleton,
IN/ Pendleton Heights) knocked in Earlham’s run in the seventh
inning with a single.
Parkevich (3-1) started on the mound for the Quakers
and worked five innings as he suffered his first loss of the season.
Ohio Wesleyan (12-3, 4-0 in NCAC West) scored seven
times in the first inning of the second contest and never looked
back.
Earlham scored in the fourth inning. Sophomore Eric Sturgeon (Logansport,
IN/Logansport) came home on a wild pitch and junior Kyle Bond (Ft.
Wayne, IN/Homestead) picked up a RBI on a ground out.
Sturgeon and first-year Tilmon Clark (Winchester,
IN/Winchester) led the Quakers with two hits each. Sturgeon (0-4)
pitched four innings for the Quakers and took the loss.
Earlham (6-11, 0-4) returns home Wednesday afternoon
as the Quakers entertain Hanover College at McBride Stadium. The
non-conference
game begins at 5 p.m.
