Quakers Return Home to Face Hanover

RICHMOND, Ind. — A
couple of late rallies hurt the Earlham College baseball team Wednesday
night as the Quakers dropped an 8-2 decision to Hanover College at
McBride Stadium.
The contest stayed close until Hanover (10-5) scored
three times in the seventh and three more in the ninth.
Hanover scored runs in the third and fourth innings
off Earlham starting pitcher first-year Alex Anderson (Logansport,
IN/Logansport)
to go in front 2-0. Anderson (0-4) took the loss leaving the contest
with one out in the seventh after giving up five runs on 11 hits
with four strikeouts.
Junior Kyle Gallagher (Richmond, IN/Richmond) tied the game in the
bottom of the fourth. Junior Justin Colanese (New Carlisle, IN/New
Prairie) led off the inning with a walk and one out later, Gallagher
blasted a shot over the right field fence to make it 2-2.
Gallagher led the Quakers with two hits, while first-year Cal Wilson
(Pendleton, IN/ Pendleton Heights) added a double. Senior Derreck
Parkevich (Logansport, IN/Logansport), sophomore Manny Myers (Fairmount,
IN/Madison-Grant) and first-year Drew Hosier (Gas City, IN/ Mississinewa)
had one hit each.
Earlham (6-12) is back in action this weekend at McBride Stadium
as Wabash College visits for North Coast Athletic Conference doubleheaders
on Saturday and Sunday. The first game each day is at 1 p.m. Box
