smashed his long ball over the fence to tie the contest. In the top
the eighth, however, Wabash (12-10, 2-0 in NCAC West) put the game
away with four runs.

four times in the first inning. The Quakers scored three times in
the third to make it 4-3. First-year Cal Wilson (Pendleton, IN/ Pendleton
Heights) knocked in two runs with a single. Sophomore Eric Sturgeon
(Logansport, IN/Logansport) finished the rally with a run-scoring
single.
After Wabash added a pair of runs in the fourth,
the Quakers scored a run on a double by Sturgeon in the fifth to
make it 6-4 to set
the stage for Bond’s dramatic homer.

the eighth inning on the mound before leaving the contest. Parkevich
(3-2) gave up 10 hits and eight runs with only four being earned.

for the Quakers.
