Finish Season Against Kenyon

RICHMOND, Ind. — The Earlham College baseball team ended its season on Wednesday night
with a doubleheader against Kenyon College at McBride Stadium.
In the opener, the Quakers lost 13-7 before falling 11-0 in the
second game. Both contests did not count in the North Coast Athletic
Conference standings.
Kenyon scored a run in the first inning and Quakers came back to
tie the opening contest on a RBI single by senior Derreck Parkevich
(Logansport, IN/Logansport) in the bottom of the frame.
Trailing 6-1 in the fourth, the Quakers rallied to plate three runs.
Parkevich led off the inning with a homer to right. First-years Ben
Marschand (Galveston, IN/Lewis Cass) and Kevin Greve (Farmersburg,
IN/North Central) knocked in runs with sacrifice flies.
The Lords (27-11) added four runs in the fifth, while the Quakers
scored three more times. First-year Cal Wilson (Pendleton, IN/ Pendleton
Heights) had a two-run single and then Greve walked with the bases
loaded to make it 10-7. Kenyon scored three times in the seventh
to put the game away.
Wilson led the Quakers with three hits, while Parkevich, junior
Justin Colanese (New Carlisle, IN/New Prairie) and sophomore Eric
Sturgeon (Logansport, IN/Logansport) had two hits each.
Earlham starter first-year Randy Kerns (West Manchester, OH/National
Trail) worked two innings and picked up the loss to fall to 1-4.
Senior Andy Krickenbarger (Arcanum, OH/Arcanum) started the second
game for the Quakers. Krickenbarger (2-1) took the loss after surrendering
six runs with only two being earned by the time he left the game
with one out in the fourth.
Junior Kyle Gallagher (Richmond, IN/Richmond) led
Earlham with two hits in the second contest. Earlham
finishes the spring at 9-26. Game
