Quakers End Florida Trip with Loss

FT. PIERCE, Fla. — The Earlham College baseball team closed out the Florida portion of its schedule on Saturday as the Quakers lost 8-3 to Grinnell College.
Grinnell worked its way to an 8-0 lead before Earlham got on the scoreboard in the bottom of the sixth inning.
Senior Kyle Bond (Ft. Wayne, IN/Homestead) singled with the bases loaded to score Earlham’s first run. First-year Jake Carr (Richmond, IN/Richmond) knocked in the second run of the frame on a fielder’s choice to make it 8-2.
In the seventh, sophomore Tilmon Clark (Winchester, IN/Winchester) added a RBI single for the final tally of the contest.
Sophomore Cal Wilson (Pendleton, IN/Pendleton Heights) led the Quakers with two hits.
Sophomore Kevin Greve (Farmersburg, IN/North Central) tossed a complete game for the Quakers. Greve (0-1) gave up six earned runs.
Earlham (5-7) plays at the College of Mount St. Joseph on Monday. The non-conference game gets underway at 6 p.m. Box score.
