Grizzlies Upend Quakers at McBride

RICHMOND, Ind. — The Earlham College baseball team fell 12-2 to Franklin College in non-conference action on Wednesday night at McBride Stadium.
The Grizzlies worked their way to an 11-0 advantage through five innings before the Quakers got on the scoreboard in the sixth. Sophomore Jake Carr (Richmond, IN/Richmond) knocked in a pair of runs with a double to make it 11-2. Franklin (21-11) added its final tally in the seventh.
Junior pitcher Randy Kerns (West Manchester, OH/National Trail) went 4⅔ innings to get the loss and go to 3-4 on the season. Junior Corey Gareri (Thorntown, IN/Western Boone) tossed 3⅓ innings giving up one run on two hits, while first-year Corey Murray (Richmond, IN/Richmond) pitched a scoreless ninth.
Carr led the Quakers with two hits, while first-years Andrew Morrical (Summitville, IN/Madison-Grant) and Kyle Stauffer (Kettering, OH/Fairmont) had one hit each.
Earlham (13-21) visits Cedarville University on Thursday. The non-conference doubleheader begins at 2 p.m.
