Quakers Play Wittenberg
on Schuckman Court For Immediate Release:

RICHMOND, Ind. — The Earlham College men’s basketball team fell short on Wednesday night as the Quakers dropped a 59-49 decision to Wittenberg University in a North Coast Athletic Conference game on Schuckman Court in the Athletics and Wellness Center.
Junior Tristian Gregory (Evansville, IN/Harrison) led the Quakers with 19 points, while senior Nick Welsh (Muncie, IN/Wes-Del) added nine points and topped the squad with eight rebounds.
Earlham sophomore Tarrell Berry (Indianapolis, IN/Northwest) finished with six points and six rebounds.
Wittenberg (9-5, 5-0) led through out the contest building an 11-point advantage late in the first half before the Quakers rallied to cut the deficit to 29-22 by intermission.
In the second half, Earlham fell behind by 12 points two times with the last coming at 48-36 with 7:49 remaining. From there the Quakers went on an 11-3 run to close the gap to 51-47 at the 3:33 mark after Welsh scored.
After the Tigers scored, Gregory hit a pair of free throws to make it 53-49 with 2:39 left. The Tigers finished the contest with six straight points to put the game away.
The Quakers (2-12, 0-5) are on the road Saturday at Ohio Wesleyan University. The NCAC game begins at 3 p.m. Box score.
