Quakers Play Rival Wabash

RICHMOND, Ind. — Junior Tristian Gregory led the Earlham College men’s basketball team with 24 points Wednesday night as the Quakers fell 65-55 to Wabash College on Schuckman Court in the Athletics and Wellness Center.
Gregory (Evansville, IN/Harrison) was the only Quaker to reach double digits in the North Coast Athletic Conference contest.
Senior Nick Welsh (Muncie, IN/Wes-Del) added nine points for Earlham, while classmate Terrel Brown (Richmond, IN/Richmond) finished with eight points.
Sophomore Tarrell Berry (Indianapolis, IN/Northwest) contributed seven points as he led the Quakers with 11 rebounds.
Wabash (11-5, 5-2) jumped out to an early 16-3 advantage at the 12:54 mark of the opening period before the Quakers rallied to eventually take the lead.
Gregory hit a pair of free throws to put the Quakers on top 21-20 with 5:18 remaining in the first half. Earlham later led 28-26 at the break.
In the second half, the Quakers maintained their small lead before the Little Giants went ahead 36-33 with 14:48 left. Earlham tied the game 43-43 when Brown nailed a 3-point at 8:53, but Wabash ended the contest with a 22-12 run to put the game away.
Earlham (2-14, 0-7) is at the College of Wooster on Saturday afternoon. The NCAC game begins at 1 p.m. Box score.
