Team Awards Announced

RICHMOND, Ind. — Earlham College junior guard Tristian Gregory was named the Most Valuable Player for the men’s basketball team on Tuesday.
Last month, Gregory (Evansville, IN/Harrison) was named to the 2008 All-NCAC Second Team after leading the Quakers in scoring this season. He averaged 18.8 points per game this year with a career-high 34 points in an 87-84 win over Lake Erie College early in the season.
Gregory finished this season four points shy of the 1,000-point mark in his career and will become the 25th player in Earlham history to reach that plateau next year.
First-year guard Ishmail Daoh (Freetown, Sierra Leone/Armand Hammer UWC) was selected as the Most Improved Player.
The statistical awards handed out by Earlham Head Coach Jeff Justus were:
• Free throw percentage (.841) by Gregory.
• Field goal percentage (.525) senior center Nick Welsh (Muncie, IN/Wes-Del).
• Most assists (56) senior Neil Collins (Ft. Wayne, IN/North).
• Most rebounds (173) sophomore Tarrell Berry (Indianapolis, IN/Northwest).
