Quakers get back on winning track at Franklin

FRANKLIN, Ind. — After taking a three-goal advantage,
the Earlham College men’s soccer
team held off a rally from Franklin College on Wednesday to post a 3-2 victory.
Earlham
led 1-0 at the half with Sophomore Jacob O'Brien (Logansport,
IN/Logansport) scoring the goal for the Quakers. In the second
period, Leland Gyr (Benzonia, MI/Leelanau) scored on a
penalty
kick before Earlham’s
leading scorer Victor Anciano (San
Antonio-Altos, Venezuela/Armand Hammer) found the net for his sixth
goal of the season to make it 3-0. Franklin scored twice in the
final 10 minutes of the contest
to close the gap, but the Quakers stopped the comeback.
Earlham (2-7) visits
North Coast Athletic Conference foe Allegheny College on Saturday.
The match begins at 1 p.m.
