For Immediate Release
Oct. 7, 2006
OBERLIN, Ohio — The Earlham College men’s soccer team dropped a 4-0 decision Saturday at Oberlin College allowing the Yeomen to keep the Freedom Trophy for another year.
The traveling hardware is in its second season after being established last fall by the 1954 Earlham men’s soccer team as that squad celebrated its induction into the Earlham Athletics Hall of Fame.
In Saturday’s North Coast Athletic Conference contest, Oberlin scored two goals in the first half to take command of the match and then added another pair in the second period.
Earlham senior goalie Jon O’Neil (West Lafayette, IN/West Lafayette) had two saves.
The Quakers (5-7, 0-3) visit Wabash College on Wednesday. The NCAC match is at 4 p.m. Box Score.
