Quakers Fall to Rose-Hulman

RICHMOND, Ind. — The Earlham College men’s soccer team surrendered a second half goal on Saturday that proved to be the difference as the Quakers were defeated 2-1 by the Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology on Matlack Field.
The Engineers scored the game-winning goal at 69:16.
Earlham’s goal tied the game 1-1 at the 27:19 mark when junior Victor Anciano (San Antonio-Altos, Venezuela/Armand Hammer) scored with an assist from first-year Bannett Asingura (Mbarara, Uganda/United World College).
The Quakers held a 16-9 advantage in shots, but the Engineers led 5-4 in corner kicks.
First-year goalkeeper Kyle Thompson (Elmhurst, IL/York Community) had three saves for Earlham.
Earlham (1-2) plays DePauw University at home on Sunday. The non-conference contest begins at 2 p.m. Box score.
