Quakers Shutout Panthers

RICHMOND, Ind. — The Earlham College men’s soccer team got back on track Saturday afternoon with a 4-0 victory over Hanover College on Matlack Field.
Senior Will Navec (Ft. Thomas, KY Seven Hills), junior Victor Anciano (San Antonio-Altos, Venezuela/Armand Hammer) and first-year Bannett Asingura (Mbarara, Uganda/United World College) combined to score all of Earlham’s goals.
Anciano had the only score of the first half as he found the net with an unassisted goal at 39:05.
Earlham added three goals in the second period. The Quakers got rolling with Asingura scoring at 53:48 with an assist from Anciano. At 57:19, Nacev scored to make it 3-0 with Anciano assisting. Asingura finished the onslaught at 64:57 with Nacev picking up the assist.
The Quakers held a 18-8 advantage in shots, but the Panthers led 6-4 in corner kicks.
First-year goalkeeper Jonah Kreniske (New York, NY/Manhattan Center for Science and Math) had four saves for Earlham.
Earlham (2-4) plays at Taylor University on Tuesday. The non-conference contest begins at 5 p.m.
