Quakers Play Match at Manchester

N. MANCHESTER, Ind. — The Earlham College men’s soccer team surrendered a second-half goal on Wednesday afternoon that enabled Manchester College to defeat the Quakers 2-1 in a non-conference contest.
The Spartans scored at 39:06 to take a 1-0 lead before Earlham got on the scoreboard at 42:03. Senior Atiq Zamani (Bloomington, IN/North) found the net to tie the match by intermission with an assist from first-year Peter Strand (Berea, KY/Berea).
At the 55:45 mark of the second period, Manchester scored the game-winning goal.
First-year goalkeeper Jonah Kreniske (New York, NY/Manhattan Center for Science and Math) had three saves for the Quakers.
Manchester held a 15-12 advantage in shots with an 8-1 edge in corner kicks.
Earlham (3-8) entertains Oberlin College Saturday on Matlack Field. The North Coast Athletic Conference match begins at 3 p.m. Box score.
