Quakers Drop Conference Match at Wittenberg

SPRINGFIELD, Ohio — The Earlham College men’s soccer squad fell 4-1 to North Coast Athletic Conference foe Wittenberg University on Tuesday night.
Wittenberg had a pair of goals in the first half before first-year Bannett Asingura (Mbarara, Uganda/United World College) scored for the Quakers at 73:45 with an assist from senior Will Nacev (Ft. Thomas, KY/Seven Hills).
Unfortunately, the Quakers could sustain the momentum from the score as Wittenberg finished the game with two more goals.
Earlham first-year goalkeeper Kyle Thompson (Elmhurst, IL/York Community) had nine saves for the Quakers.
The Tigers held a 19-7 edge in shots with a 13-3 advantage in corner kicks.
Earlham (5-10, 2-4) plays Ohio Wesleyan University Saturday during Homecoming Weekend. The NCAC match on Matlack Field begins at 3 p.m. Box score.
