Men's Soccer Coaches
Head Coach Roy Messer
Roy Messer enters his 27th season with the
Quakers. During his tenure with the men’s soccer program,
Messer has posted 224 victories. Earlham has been in the NCAA
Tournament once and the
NAIA National Tournament six times under the leadership of the
New Jersey native.
The Quakers have won four conference championships
with two each in the College Athletic Conference and a pair in
the Illinois-Indiana Soccer Conference. Earlham also won NAIA
District 21 championships in 1986 and 1987. The 1970 College of
Wooster
graduate also led Earlham to a school record 16 wins in 1999
one year after the Quakers appeared in the NCAA Tournament.

Roy
Assistant Coach Rob Richardson
Rob Richardson is in his first year with the Earlham College men’s soccer program. Richardson is a native of Seaham, Great Britain.
Richardson comes to Earlham from Pro Active Sports in New Jersey.
He also worked for the United Soccer Academy in New Jersey from 2000-04.

Assistant Coach Sam Byrd
Sam Byrd is in his third season with the Quakers as a coach.
A Richmond native, Byrd played four seasons at Earlham and graduated in 2003.
