Fall in Road Match at Rose-Hulman

TERRE HAUTE,
Ind. — One night after
posting a road victory, the Earlham College men’s tennis
team dropped a 4-3 match on Wednesday at Rose-Hulman.
Earlham lost the doubles point to start the contest and then won
three singles matches after that to fall one point short.
Senior Andy Nelson (Mantoloking, NJ/St. Mark’s
School) won in straight sets at No. 2 singles, while senior Nate
Henderson (Hyde
Park, MA/Concord) dominated his third set as he won at No. 3. First-year
Shiro Fukuzawa (Nagano, Japan) lost his opening set at No. 5 before
bouncing back to earn a victory.
The Quakers (5-3) are at Wittenberg on Saturday for North Coast
Athletic Conference match at 8 a.m. Earlham also faces Transylvania
in Springfield, Ohio, at 11 a.m. Scoresheet.
