Quakers
Split a Pair of Road Matches at Denison

GRANVILLE,
Ohio — The
Earlham College men’s tennis team split a pair of matches on
Saturday.
Earlham lost 4-3 to Oberlin College before beating Ohio Wesleyan
University by an identical score. Both North Coast Athletic Conference
contests were played at Denison University.
Against Ohio Wesleyan, Earlham lost all three
doubles matches to drop the point. The Quakers bounced back with
four wins in singles
securing the victory. “We had a lot of close matches and the
guys are coming through in the clutch,” Earlham coach Justin
Carrier said.
Senior Andy Nelson (Mantoloking, NJ/St. Mark's School)
at No.2, senior Nate Henderson (Hyde Park, MA/Concord Academy) at
No. 3, junior
Pete DiLalla (Cleveland Heights, OH/Cleveland Heights) at No. 4 and
first-year Shiro Fukuzawa (Nagano, Japan) at No. 5 were winners in
straight sets for the Quakers.
The Quakers started the day with Oberlin. Junior Scott
Miller (Greensburg, IN/Greensburg) and Henderson teamed up for a
win at No. 1 doubles,
but Earlham lost the doubles point.
Nelson, Henderson and DiLalla won their singles matches for the
Quakers.
Earlham (9-4, 2-2) finishes the regular season on
Tuesday at Wittenberg University. The NCAC match is at 4 p.m. Oberlin
