Quakers Finish Season at Rose-Hulman
For Immediate Release:
April 18, 2008
TERRE HAUTE, Ind. — The Earlham College men’s tennis concluded its season on Friday with a 6-2 loss at the Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology.
The match began outdoors at the Joy Hulbert Tennis Center, but was moved inside to the Wabash Valley Tennis Center due to rain.
Seniors Scott Miller (Greensburg, IN/Greensburg) and Sergey Grechukhin (Nizny Novgorod, Russia/United World College) posted victories for the Quakers.
Miller defeated Michael Schoumacher 4-6, 6-0, 6-3 at No. 1 singles, while Grechukhin beat Nick Lester 6-3, 6-0 at No. 5.
Although he played at No. 2 singles, first-year Michael Von Vogt (South Bristol, ME/Lincoln Academy) was not counted in the final score because only one set was completed.
Because Earlham’s Saturday home match against Oberlin College was canceled, the Quakers end the spring at 2-8. Scoresheet.
