Quakers Open NCAC Indoor Championships;
Two Throwers Earn All-Conference Honors

GRANVILLE, Ohio — Sophomore Chris Shaw and first-year Chad Wertman highlighted the performance of the Earlham College men’s indoor track team on Friday during the North Coast Athletic Conference Championships at Denison University.
Shaw (Anderson, IN/Pendleton Heights) finished second in the shot put with a toss of 46’8¾” and Wertman (Holland, IN/Southridge) had a distance of 46’2¼” to take third. Both earned all-conference honors by virtue of finishing in the top three positions.
Sophomore Bo Braun (Nutley, NJ/Nutley) qualified for the finals in the 400-meter run with a time of 51.16, which was the third best time of the day.
The championships continue on Saturday with the field events beginning at 10:30 a.m., while the running events start at 2:15 p.m.
