Shaw Earns NCAC Weekly Award

RICHMOND, Ind. — Earlham College sophomore Chris Shaw was honored by the North Coast Athletic Conference on Monday for his performance in the Indiana Intercollegiate Championships at IUPUI.
Shaw (Anderson, IN/Pendleton Heights) was named NCAC Field Athlete of the Week for men’s track after placing third in the discus on Friday, April 11 in Indianapolis. He broke a 40-year old Earlham record in the event with a throw of 167’1” to surpass the old mark of 160’5” set by Mike Brown in 1968.
Shaw and his teammates will compete in the Earlham Invitational Saturday at Darrell Beane Stadium. The annual meet gets underway at 11 a.m.— EC —
