Quakers play NCAC contest at Hiram

HIRAM, Ohio — The Earlham College women’s basketball team finished
its long weekend road trip with a 72-56 loss at Hiram College
on Saturday in a North Coast Athletic Conference game.
First-year Tasha Merrill (Cedar Grove, IN/Franklin County)
led the Quakers with 21 points and two assists.
Junior Guin
Summerton (Williams, IN/Shoals), Sophomore Whitney McBurrows
(Lansing, MI/J.W. Sexton) and sophomore Chelsea Caywood (Richmond,
IN/Richmond) added seven points each. Sophomore Sara Prince
(Dresden, Ohio/Tri-Valley) pulled down a career-high five
rebounds.
Hiram (8-11, 3-9) led early 9-2
with 18:26 left in the first half. The Terriers were in front
40-25
at
the break.
The Quakers pulled to within eight points twice in the second
half with the last time at the 12:52 mark when the score was
45-37.
Earlham (4-18, 3-10) plays its
third straight road game on Wednesday as the Quakers travel
to Wittenberg University. The
