Covington named to Rose-Hulman
all-tournament team

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. — The
Earlham College women’s basketball team dropped a 73-62
decision Saturday afternoon to Robert Morris-Springfield in
the consolation game of the Rose-Hulman Tournament on
in Hulbert Arena.
First-year Janee’ Covington
(Indianapolis, IN/Arlington) led the Quakers for the second
straight contest scoring 13 points, while grabbing five rebounds.
Combined with her
19-point effort on Friday, she was named
to the all-tournament team.
With 12 points and 10 rebounds
for the Quakers, first-year
Tasha Merrill (Cedar Grove, IN/Franklin County) recorded a
double-double for the third
time this season. She was also
perfect from the free throw line converting all eight attempts.
First-year
LeShea Orr (Dayton, OH/Jefferson) contributed seven points
and eight rebounds.
Earlham fell behind 6-0 early in
the contest and trailed 37-20 at intermission. The Quakers
did have an edge in rebounding 53-39.
Rose-Hulman won the tournament
with a 68-67 win over Marian College.
Earlham (1-9) entertains
Hanover College on Tuesday. The non-conference contest
starts
at 3
p.m. on Schuckman Court in the Athletics and Wellness Center. Box

A reminder to fans that the Student
Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) is taking
clothing donations at the next two home games. Prior to the
women's game on Tuesday, the men's team entertains Franklin
College at 7:30 p.m. on Monday.
