Quakers Play Conference Foe on the Road

GRANVILLE, Ohio — The Earlham College women’s basketball team finished out the road portion of the regular season schedule on Wednesday with a 97-41 loss to Denison University.

Senior Whitney McBurrows (Lansing, MI/J.W. Sexton) led the Quakers with 11 points in the North Coast Athletic Conference contest, while sophomore Jayana Sims (Indianapolis, IN/Ben Davis) tossed nine points and grabbed five rebounds.

Junior Tracy Hill (Copley, OH/Cuyahoga Valley Christian) added eight points and led Earlham with eight rebounds. Junior Tasha Merrill (Cedar Grove, IN/Franklin County) contributed seven points.

The game was close early with Denison leading 8-6 with 17:20 left in the first half. From that point, however, the Big Red built a 51-25 advantage at intermission. Denison (15-9, 11-4) put the game away in the second period.

The Quakers (3-21, 2-13) play their final home game of the season Saturday against the College of Wooster. The NCAC game on Schuckman Court in the Athletics and Wellness Center is at 3 p.m. Box score.
