Merrill and McBurrows Earn Spots on All-NCAC Team

RICHMOND, Ind. — Two student-athletes from the Earlham College women’s basketball team garnered recognition from the North Coast Athletic Conference on Wednesday.
Junior forward Tasha Merrill (Cedar Grove, IN/Franklin County) and senior guard Whitney McBurrows (Lansing, MI/J.W. Sexton) were both honored for the second consecutive year. Merrill was a second-team selection, while McBurrows received honorable mention to the 2008 All-NCAC Women's Basketball Team.
Merrill, who received All-NCAC honorable mention in 2007, averaged 12.0 points per game this season for Earlham. She was also was named NCAC Player of the Week after leading the Quakers to a win in the regular season finale with 20 points against the College of Wooster.
McBurrows scored 11.9 points per game this season and had a career-high of 22 points against Hiram College. She also recorded a double-double in another contest against Hiram with 14 points and 10 rebounds. McBurrows was a member of the All-NCAC Second Team as a junior.
