Quakers fall to Transylvania in extra session

RICHMOND, Ind. —
An overtime goal by Transylvania University ended the hopes of the Earlham College field hockey squad on Saturday as the Pioneers defeated the Quakers 2-1 in non-conference action on Comstock Field.

Alexa Gabriel (Silver Spring, MD Montgomery Blair) scored for the Quakers to tie the match 1-1 at 31:27. Transylvania scored 1:48 into the extra session to win the contest. Earlham first-year goalie Katherine McDonough (Louisville, KY/St. Francis) had nine saves including one in the overtime.

The Quakers (0-8) return to action Tuesday at Denison University. The North Coast Athletic Conference match begins at 3:30 p.m. Box score
