Late Goal Hurts Quakers Against NCAC Foe

RICHMOND, Ind. — A goal in the final two minutes Wednesday afternoon gave Ohio Wesleyan University a 2-1 win over the Earlham College field hockey team on Comstock Field.
After a scoreless first half, Ohio Wesleyan found the net in the North Coast Athletic Conference contest with a goal at 36:30.
First-year Cassie Gage (West Carrollton, OH/Fairmont) tied the match at 59:39 with an assist from junior Liz Buehler (Hartland, WI/Arrowhead). The Bishops scored the game-winner at 67:53.
Earlham sophomore goalie Katherine McDonough (Louisville, KY/St. Francis) had two saves as the Quakers outshot the Bishops 11-7. Ohio Wesleyan had a 6-5 edge in penalty corners.
The Quakers (2-8, 0-6) play Denison University at home on Saturday. The NCAC match is at 11:30 a.m. Box Score.
