Sophomore Leads Quakers to Victory

RICHMOND, Ind. — Sophomore Cassie Gage gave the Earlham College field hockey team all of the offense the Quakers would need on Saturday afternoon as the Quakers defeated Transylvania University 1-0 on Comstock Field.
Gage (West Carrolton, OH/Fairmont) scored an unassisted goal at 16:56 of the first half of the non-conference match.
Junior goalie Katherine McDonough (Louisville, KY/St. Francis) had a pair of saves as she posted her first shutout of the season and second of her career.
The Quakers had a 9-2 edge in shots and 16-3 advantage in penalty corners.
Earlham (2-8) plays at St. Vincent College on Thursday in Latrobe, Pa. The non-conference affair starts at 4:30 p.m. Box score.
