Double overtime goal gives Quakers win

PHILADELPHIA, Pa. — Hillary Carter's goal in the second overtime
on Sunday gave the
Earlham
College
women's
soccer
team
a 2-1 win over Alvernia College at the Swarthmore Kick
Classic.
Carter (Middletown, OH/Lakota East) scored at 100:20
with an assist from Maddie Daskovsky (Chicago, IL/Evanston Township).
It was the second goal of the
contest
for
Carter,
who
scored in the first half at 11:58 thanks to an assist from Jen Ruehl
(Cincinnati, OH/Seton.
Senior goalkeeper
Kari Wilder-Romans
(Ann Arbor, MI/Pioneer) had one save as the
Quakers out shot
Alvernia
22-8.
The Quakers had three players on the All Tournament
Team with Carter along with Olympia Diamond (Merchantville, NJ/Glen
Ridge) and Ashley Reyer (Dayton, OH/Kettering Alter) were selected.
Earlham (1-1) returns to action against DePauw University
on Saturday, Sept. 10 at home on Matlack Field. The contest is the
opener
of a
men's
and women's doubleheader beginning at noon.
