RICHMOND, Ind. — Back-to-back shutouts highlighted the Earlham
College women's soccer victories this weekend.
After a blanking Berea College
3-0 on Friday night, the Quakers topped St. Mary-of-the-Woods by an identical
score Saturday afternoon on Matlack Field.
Unlike Friday's victory when Earlham
scored all three of its goals in the first half, Saturday's contest
was scoreless at intermission.
First-year Hillary Carter (Middletown,
OH/Lakota East) broke the tie with
a header off a corner kick by sophomore Jen Ruehl (Cincinnati,
OH/Seton) at the 59:23 mark for
her six score of the fall.
Later in the period, First-year
Maddie Daskovsky (Chicago, IL/Evanston Township)
made it 2-0 with her fourth goal of the season at 74:09 with Carter assisting
on the play. Ruehl found the net at 88:34 for the final score with an
assist from junior Myra Malishenko (Yellow
Springs, OH/Yellow Springs).
First-year Natasha
Kroma (Marion, IN/Marion) didn't see a shot from the Pomeroys
as she posted the initial shutout of her career.
The Quakers (5-2-1) entertain Anderson
University on Tuesday. The non-conference match begins at 4 p.m. Box score
