GAMBIER, Ohio — An
overtime goal on Saturday ended a two-match winning streak for
the Earlham College women’s soccer team.
Kenyon College scored
three minutes into the extra session to post a 3-2 victory over
the Quakers in a North Coast Athletic Conference
contest.
First-year Hillary Carter (Middletown,
OH/Lakota East) continued her record-breaking fall with
a pair of goals in the opening period. Carter, who set a new
Earlham mark for goals in a season earlier this week, now has
18. She also
has 42 points (a combination of goals and assists), which breaks
the mark of 39 established by Lacey Berns in 1999.
Earlham senior
goalie Kari Wilder Romans (Ann Arbor, MI/Pioneer) had six saves.
The
Quakers (8-7-1, 1-5) play their final road contest of the regular
season on Wednesday at Ohio Wesleyan University.
