Women's Soccer Quakers Fall in Season Opener For Immediate Release RICHMOND, Ind. — The Earlham College women's soccer team surrendered a pair of first half goals on Friday and couldn't recover as Principia posted a 3-1 victory in the opening round of the Raven-Quaker Classic on Matlack Field. Junior Hailee Carter (Middletown, OH/Lakota East) scored Earlham's goal in the second half to close the gap to 2-1 before the Panthers added the final tally of the contest a few minutes later. First-year Franny Newport (Toledo, OH/St. Ursula) picked up the assist for the Quakers. Principia out shot the Quakers 18-10 as Earlham senior goalie Casie Byrd (Bloomington, IN/North) had 12 saves. Earlham (0-1) entertains Thomas More on Sept. 2 at 1 p.m. Box Score. |
