Quakers Drop Contest at Rose-Hulman

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. — A goal on a corner kick in the first half made the difference Saturday as the Earlham College womens soccer team dropped a 2-1 contest to Rose-Hulman.
First-year Franny Newport (Toledo, OH/St. Ursula) tied the game 1-1 with 21:23 on the clock with an assist from sophomore Elby ONeil (West Lafayette, IN/West Lafayette).
Rose-Hulman scored the game-winning goal on the corner kick at 31:13. The teams played a scoreless second half.
Senior Casie Byrd (Bloomington, IN/North) had four saves for Earlham as the Quakers were out shot 14-8.
Earlham (1-2) visits DePauw University today. The non-conference contest starts at 1 p.m. Box Score.
