Women's Soccer Early Goals Help Quakers Blank Franklin For Immediate Release RICHMOND, Ind. — Three goals in the first 20 minutes Tuesday afternoon propelled the Earlham College women’s soccer team to a 7-0 win over Franklin College on Matlack Field. The seven goals in the second most in school history and it ties the largest margin of victory since women’s soccer began at Earlham in 1988. The Quakers defeated Franklin 8-1 last season to set the record goal goals and winning margin. First-year Franny Newport (Toledo, OH/St. Ursula) got the scoring started at 8:21 with an unassisted goal. First-year Mya Hernandez (Kalamazoo, MI/Loy Norrix) made it 2-0 at 11:43 with senior Molly Pasman (Okemos, MI/Leelanau School) picking up the assist. The Quakers upped their advantage to 3-0 when junior Hailee Carter (Middletown, OH/Lakota East) scored on a corner kick at 19:30 with assists from Pasman and Hernandez. The Quakers led 5-0 at intermission after sophomore Maddie Daskovsky (Chicago, IL/Evanston Township) scored at 32:23 and first-year Callie Thompson (Louisville, KY/Dupont Manual) added the final tally of the period on a corner kick. Hernandez and first-year Faye Rowell (North Vernon, IN/Jennings County) had assists on the play. In the second half, Carter scored on a penalty kick at 67:53, while senior Ashley Reyer (Dayton, OH/Kettering Alter) put the finishing touch on the win with a goal at 79:02 as Hernandez picked up her third assist of the contest. Senior Casie Byrd (Bloomington, IN/North), sophomore Elana Schwam (Westborough, MA/Westborough) and sophomore Natasha Kroma (Marion, IN/Marion) combined to blank Franklin.
