Quakers Post Second Consecutive Victory

HIRAM, Ohio — A pair of second half goals helped the Earlham College women’s soccer team post a 3-0 victory over Hiram College on Saturday in a North Coast Athletic Conference contest.
It was the second straight win for the Quakers and fifth in their last six matches.
Sophomore Maddie Daskovsky (Evanston, IL/Evanston Township) gave the Quakers an early 1-0 lead with a goal at 7:42 with junior Hailee Carter (Middletown, OH/Lakota East) assisting on the play. In the second period, first-year Franny Newport (Toledo, OH/St. Ursula) scored an unassisted goal at 67:50 before Carter recorded the final tally on her fourth goal of the season. Newport has five scores this fall, while Daskovsky has three.
Senior goalkeeper Casie Byrd (Bloomington, IN/North) had eight saves as she recorded her third shutout of the season. Earlham outshot Hiram 23-13, while the Terriers held a 5-3 edge in corners.
Earlham (6-4, 1-1) visits Oberlin College next Saturday. The NCAC match is at noon.
